Les Aubergistes Lyonnais, France’s first mission-driven hotel group, is reinventing the art of hospitality with a commitment to respecting the environment, supporting the Lyon region and ensuring the well-being of its teams.
What is a Mission Company?
The société à mission status, introduced by the 2019 PACTE law, enables a company to formalize its social and environmental commitments in its articles of association. This demanding model rests on several pillars:
- A raison d’être enshrined in the articles of association, defining the company’s contribution to issues of general interest.
- Specific social or environmental objectives to give concrete expression to this raison d’être.
- A mission committee, responsible for ensuring that these commitments are respected and passed on to every level of the organization.
- Greater transparency, with regular monitoring and public reporting.
In other words, a company with a mission is much more than a business: it’s a player committed to a better world, where profit and positive impact coexist harmoniously.

A word from an executive
Because I’m convinced that tomorrow’s business will either be ethical or it won’t be at all, I’m proud to be the driving force behind the Aubergistes Lyonnais mission. Our job is to offer food, shelter and smiles… what could be more essential to life?
So let’s dare to be true places of local life and let’s bring fraternity into our establishments, let’s be Aubergistes Lyonnais et Citoyens!
