Le Gai Soleil, a new Collection hotel

Les Aubergistes Lyonnais has added to its collection with the acquisition of Le Gai Soleil, an iconic 3-star hotel in Les Contamines-Montjoie. Nestled in the heart of the village, at the foot of Mont Blanc, this 19-room establishment, with its restaurant, garden and relaxation facilities, becomes the group’s first Alpine address.

An authentic retreat, naturally in tune with the innkeeper’s DNA

A mountain home with roots dating back to 1823, first as a farmhouse then as an inn before becoming a hotel, Le Gai Soleil has preserved its soul: a simple welcome, a direct relationship with nature, and a typically Savoyard architectural charm.
For Loïc Renart, President of Aubergistes Lyonnais, this acquisition is an obvious choice:

A major renovation by Eroz – opening June 2026

Le Gai Soleil will undergo a complete renovation by the Eroz agency, which will reinterpret the hotel in the spirit of a chalet: weathered wood, warm materials, muffled lighting, antique objects… A contemporary mountain atmosphere, designed to create an intimate, lively setting.
A first reopening is planned for this summer, with full completion of the works in June 2027.

A privileged location, between unspoilt nature and four-season tourism

Located in the sought-after La Frasse district, in a peaceful setting close to the Parc du Pontet and hiking trails, the hotel boasts an unobstructed view of the peaks.
It will become an ideal base for :
